On 28 February,the Minister of European Integration Ms Klajda Gjosha participated in a meeting with stakeholders on the Government Roadmap for Civil Society. This important document aims to ensure intensification of cooperation and partnership between the State authorities and civil society in shaping up and implementation of public policies, as a fundamental feature of any modern State that serves its citizens.

It is one of the priorities of the Ministry of European Integration to deepen cooperation and engage in most intensive consultations with civil society on each step and initiative under the EU integration process“, Minister Gjosha said in the meeting where the Roadmap and its Action Plan were presented.

Elaborated by Albanian and foreign experts with prominent experience in the civil society sector, this Roadmap is expected to contribute to unlocking the potential stemming from the improved government and civil society cooperation,“ the Integration Minister added.

Minister Gjosha noted that the civil government as a whole, in the government’s philosophy is a crucial partner in all EU integration reforms and processes launched by the government. She said that these initiatives are challenging and motivating to establish mechanisms that ensure the widest and sustained involvement of the civil society sector in each step Albania takes in the integration course. “We are aware of the difficulties the civil society sector faces in pursuing its mission. We are also aware of the difficulties of the public institutions themselves in the context of an open and supportive cooperation with civil society. Our clear and genuine commitment is to eliminate these difficulties and make the journey together with civil society to uphold public interest”, the Minister said.
