On September 19, 2024, the next roundtable of the Partnership Platform for European Integration and the National Convention for European Integration for Chapter 5 – Public Procurement was held, organized by the Public Procurement Agency and the European Movement in Albania, with the main theme being the approval of the New National Strategy for Public Procurement 2024-2030 and the Action Plan for its implementation 2024-2027.

WG – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) – The Law on Volunteering in Albania: A priority for the development of an enabling environment for civil society, 09 July 2024
On July 9, 2024, the roundtable regarding the Law on Volunteering as a priority for the development of an enabling environment for civil society within the framework of the National Convention for European Integration was held in Tirana. The roundtable was organised by the European Movement in Albania in close cooperation with the Minister of State for Youth and Children, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, as well as the National Resource Center for Civil Society in Albania, Partners Albania for Change and Development. This roundtable came as an impetus from civil society actors, who for more than four years have been seeking the revision of the law by issuing recommendations and analyses for the problems of the existing law. WG – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) – Integration of Each of Us in Albania and Europe – Protection of Fundamental Rights and Marginalized Communities, 14 May 2024
On May 14, 2024, the European Movement in Albania, in cooperation with the Pro LGBT organization, organized the next table discussion for Chapter 23 – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, within the National Convention for European Integration, on the topic “Integration of Each of Us in Albania and Europe – Protection of Fundamental Rights and Marginalized Communities”. In this activity, issues related to human rights and especially their protection and promotion were discussed, with special attention to marginalized groups in Albania.

The Roundtable for Chapter 23 within the Platform of Partnership for European Integration and the National Convention for European Integration framework, financed by the European Union and organized by the Ministry of Justice and the European Movement in Albania on March 28, 2024, brought together roundtable members and various actors from state institutions, civil society organizations, legal professionals, experts, and activists to discuss the protection of children online from all forms of violence and abuse. Panel experts during their presentations drew attention to critical issues related to child online protection and the prevention of crime against minors. WG – Public Procurement (Chapter 5) – Revision of the Law “On Concessions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs)”, and best European practices, 29 February 2024
The Roundtable convened on February 29th, 2024, at Xheko Imperial Hotel, brought together different stakeholders with the aim to harmonize Albania’s legal framework governing Concessions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) with European Union directives. Jointly organised by the Public Procurement Agency and the European Movement in Albania, the event sought to explore avenues for aligning the Law “On Concessions and PPPs” with the provisions of EU Directive 2014/23/EU, prioritizing transparency, competitiveness, and adherence to international standards. WG – Judiciary and Fundamental Rights (Chapter 23) – The Active Role of Civil Society in the Roadmap for the Functioning of Democratic Institutions within the Political Criteria Framework, 22 January 2024
On January 22, 2024, the European Movement in Albania and the Ministry of Justice organised in Tirana the Roundtable on Chapter 23, focusing on the Active Role of Civil Society in the Roadmap for the Functioning of Democratic Institutions. The purpose of this Roundtable was to discuss and consult with the roundtable members and the civil society actors on the key points and measures outlined in the Roadmap for the Functioning of Democratic Institutions, which covers three main areas 1. Electoral Process, 2. The Assembly and 3. Civil Society.
WG – Public Procurement (Chapter 5): Founding Roundtable of the Partnership Platform, 16 January 2024
On January 16, 2024, the Founding Roundtable for Chapter 5 – Public Procurement was convened within the framework of the Partnership Platform for European Integration and the National Convention for European Integration by EMA in collaboration with the Public Procurement Agency (PPA). This meeting marked the formal establishment of the PPEI Roundtable for Chapter 5, in which two strategic documents were presented respectively, the Draft National Public Procurement Strategy 2024-2030 and its Action Plan 2024-2027, as well as the National Plan for European Integration 2024-2026 for Chapter 5. The presentation took place in the presence of roundtable members, who represent civil society sector, private business sector, academia and the media, selected based on the public call for roundtable membership.
WG – Justice, Freedom, Security (Chapter 24): Rule of Law Roadmap and next steps after the opening of negotiating Cluster 1: Fundamentals, 7 December 2023
On 7th December 2023, in Tirana, a discussion table was organised within the Working Group for Chapter 24 under the National Convention on European Integration and the Partnership Platform on European Integration, from the European Movement in Albania and the Ministry of Interior of Albania. With the participation of civil society actors, experts involved in Chapter 24 issues, representatives from university and professionals from public administration, the focus of the discussion was the presentation of the Rule of Law Roadmap and the concrete steps expected after the opening of the Cluster 1 – Fundamentals, after the screening process was successfully completed for Albania. WG – Public Procurement (Chapter 5): Main issues and involvement of civil society actors on Public Procurement, 7 December 2023
On December 7, 2023, the roundtable for Chapter 5 – Public Procurement titled “Main issues and involvement of civil society actors” in the framework of the establishment of the Discussion and Consultation Roundtables under the European Integration Partnership Platform was held in Tirana jointly convened by the European Movement in Albania, and the Agency for Public Procurement, as the central body responsible for the well-going of the public procurement system in Albania. The purpose of this roundtable was to present the public procurement as the regime that can provide for transparency, equal treatment, free competition and non-discrimination in its general principles, to highlight the alignment process of the Albanian legal framework vis-à-vis the EU acquis, and to introduce the public call for membership into the Chapter 5 Roundtable within EIPP as well. The roundtable brought together representatives of various institutions, civil society organizations, academic and media actors, privately entrepreneurship whose interests are closely related to the European Integration process.
