Ministry of European Integration gathered today at round table representatives from civil society, with the intention to consult the Report on Albania, for 2015. Minister Gjosha, together with the Deputy/Minister Gentian Elezi, summarized the recommendations of the European Commission, seeking greater involvement of civil society and its contribution as one of the key actors in the integration process.
Minister Gjosha emphasized that within a few days line the ministries will have prepared proposals for an action plan for the 5 priorities, which will start to be implemented in 2016. This plan will be drawn up by the Board for Negotiations, a new structure headed by the Prime Minister and which has as its integral part Ministers of line ministries covering the 5 priorities. According to the Minister, the recommendations, although they are significant challenges for public administration and require clear political will, are to be reflected in this Action Plan as commitments of 2016. It is important the contribution of the civil society to this plan, so that, within a short time to meet the recommendations.
Deputy Minister Gentian Elezi said that the Ministry of European Integration is coordinating the work of updating the National Plan of integration and the need for all-inclusiveness becomes even greater. According to the Deputy Minister the main challenge is the analysis of the Commission in this report, which gives the level of preparedness for each sector and each field, in terms of alignment and implementation of European legislation.
Civil society representatives gave their suggestions, comments and recommendations on the Report as well as on relations with the institutions, the need for their improvement and common challenges for the integration process.
